Case Study

The Cottages at Green’s Lake in Lawrence are a permanent supportive housing project, developed in conjunction with the community’s new crisis center and the Bert Nash Mental Health Center’s transitional housing project. The development is the first of its kind for the community and offers permanent supportive rental housing for individuals who need mental health and substance abuse services. It offers individuals a safe home and the services they need to be successful. The development is a collaboration between the local Public Housing Authority, Douglas County and the Housing Trust Fund.

Program Description

The National Housing Trust Fund assists communitites and developers with increasing the supply of rental housing that is affordable to low-income households.

Audience Served

The program provides funds for developers creating rental housing for extremely low-income household renters.

How To Apply

The 2023 HOME and Housing Trust Fund (HTF) applications are due Friday, Jan. 27, 2023. Applicants are to use the 2023 LIHTC Application on the Housing Development page for all rental development applications.
