Kansas Housing received 47 Low-Income Housing Tax Credit preliminary applications for the 2026 9% preliminary round. A total of 28 Kansas communities are represented in this year’s preliminary application round.
Thirty-five applicants are invited to submit their application during the full application round as determined by the evaluation criteria in the 2026 Qualified Allocation Plan. Of the LIHTC applications moving forward, 15 applicants are requesting HUD Resources in addition to low-income housing tax credits. KHRC staff will determine if HUD Resources will be awarded, up to $1.5 million per project, and what type.
Full applications are due May 15, 2026, and awards will be announced on July 31, 2026.
