Show Off Your Service Submission Form

All 2026 Kansas Housing Conference registrants are invited to submit a proposal for a public service project to address a housing or housing-related need in their community. One project will be chosen to receive the $2,000 Show Off Your Service! Award, sponsored by Kansas Bankers Association.

Examples of how $2,000 could be used to fund your housing-related project:

• Providing computer/internet access for community members to apply for services
• Purchasing shelter supplies
• Training staff
• Light maintenance/rehabilitation of common spaces (painting/furnishing a drop-in or common room, lawn care for community properties, etc.)
• Providing basic supplies, furnishings for new residents/guests (dishes, linens, household/cleaning products, groceries, etc.)
• Providing community services or resources such as garden beds for residents, workshops on how to access public services, language training, etc.

Submission guidelines:

• Each proposal should exhibit a clear connection to housing and/or services that support housing stability.
• The proposed projects must be implemented in Kansas and provide a service to Kansans
• Project proposals will only be accepted if they are submitted by a 2026 Kansas Housing Conference registrant.
• Entry limit of one proposal per attendee.
• Each entry must have a sponsoring and beneficiary organization. The sponsoring and beneficiary organization may be the same–that is, attendees may submit a proposal for a project that benefits their own organization.
• Each sponsoring organization is limited to one entry, even if the sponsoring organization registers multiple attendees for the conference.
• Previous Show Off Your Service! winners are ineligible to apply for one year following their award.

Judging criteria:

• Innovative
• Project sustainability
• Positive impact on the community
• Direct connection to housing
• Ease of implementation/achievability
• Only proposals submitted by a 2026 conference registrant will be considered

Each finalist will be provided with a table to display and present their project boards during the Show Off Your Service! Showcase on Tuesday, August 25. Conference attendees are encouraged to learn more about the projects and share inspiration and best practices for their own initiatives. Project descriptions will also be available on the conference app and shared during the conference. Every registered conference participant may cast a vote for their favorite project through the conference app.

The project that receives the most votes will be presented with a $2,000 check during the Networking Lunch on Tuesday afternoon, August 25.
